Dancing Astronaut presents Axis episode 140: Mixed by Durante
A bright wave of young, forward-thinking up-and-comers are beginning to break through and establish themselves, garnering recognition from some of dance music’s most dominant labels. Leading the pack is Los Angeles-based talent Durante, who continues to fine-tune a distinguished and sophisticated production style. A record label as colorful and diverse as Skrillex‘s OWSLA imprint is the perfect place for Durante to call home as he spearheads his own relaxed, soothing brand of house-inspired creations. This week we welcome Durante to the Axis guest mix to showcase a different side of house music.
Durante’s hour-long bout takes an introspective look at the deeper end of the house spectrum, dipping into disco inspirations, cruising between material from the likes of Jimmy Edgar to Todd Terje. From Shiba San to Nadastrom with Durante’s own groovy originals sprinkled in between.
