IMS Engage to feature Seth Troxler in conversation with Chuck D

International Music Summit (IMS) serves as one of the primary forums for dance music around the world. Returning to Los Angeles in April for the third annual IMS Engage, the conference has announced its first set of speakers. In a clever pairing, IMS has matched two of the music industry’s most outspoken individuals together: Seth Troxler and Chuck D.

You’d be hard pressed to find a more candid individual than Troxler in today’s dance music scene. Never one to bite his tongue, Seth famously called out Avicii and Steve Aoki at last year’s IMS Ibiza. Now paired up for a conversation with the famed frontman of legendary hip hop group Public Enemy, Troxler’s snarky sincerity will meet Chuck D’s notoriously bold opinions. Troxler said of the matchup:

“Back in the day artists like Chuck had the balls and vision to thrust hip hop into the political domain and form a bridge between music and politics that I personally feel very strongly about. It’s going to be an interesting debate and I look forward to seeing my Dad Sherman sitting front-row as he’s a huge Public Enemy fan!”

IMS has also announced a more industry-driven panel with Lyor Cohen in conversation with Jake Udell. Cohen, the former CEO of Recorded Music for Warner Music, will share his seasoned insight with one of the industry’s youngest power players: Jake Udell. The entrepreneur is the managerial force behind ZHU and Krewella as well as the leader of boutique management agency Th3rd Brain.

IMS will welcome 350 delegates to Hollywood on April 15. Tickets are available here.
