The Knocks – Dancing With Myself (Original Mix)

The Knocks‘ “Classic” was easily one of the best songs of 2014, and it would be entirely understandable for any artist to follow up such an impressive release with a track with a similar style. B-Roc and JPatt, however, are constantly evolving, leading their fans on a musical journey with a new sound at every turn. So as wonderful as “Classic” was, it’s no surprise that the duo’s follow-up, “Dancing With Myself,” bears little resemblance to it.

Whereas “Classic” was the consummate summertime anthem, “Dancing With Myself” is the soundtrack to late nights year-round. The track unfolds gracefully, with each additional layer bringing the song a touch closer to its polished whole. The vocals are distant and beautiful, and they perfectly match the intrigue of the instrumental. It’s an otherworldly combination, and “Dancing With Myself” is one of the most promising songs of early 2015 as a result.
