Avicii premieres new collaboration with Coldplay’s Chris Martin ‘Heaven’

When fans initially heard Avicii and Coldplay’s then-new collaboration, “A Sky Full of Stars,” last Spring, many wondered if that was as far as the pair would go in terms of working in the studio together. It wasn’t.

Ahead of Tim Bergling’s performance at Future Music Festival, he announced that the festival would take the honors of being the first to hear new music from his sophomore album, Stories. Citing “like 60 people that I collaborated with,” Chris Martin is now known to be one of them. “Heaven” is a more intimate followup to “A Sky Full of Stars,” giving off a palpable synergy between the producer and vocalist. Despite the poor sound quality, robust piano strikes, melodious sways and euphoric synth structures nod to the stylistics that brought Avicii to fame earlier on in his career.
