Galantis – Runaway (Leo Medina & Jona Prado Remix)
After a lengthy touring hiatus, Argentinian big room mainstay Leo Medina emerged from the studio with this gem; a remix crafted in collaboration with longtime friend and fellow producer Jona Prado. While they’re certainly not the first artists to take on Galantis‘ massive hit “Runaway,” their rendition of the tune definitely stands out above the noise. Dark and edgy, there’s something strangely addictive about the Medina/Prado remix that begs a repeat listen. Sure, the original’s anthemic chords and climatic builds are left, for the most part, intact, but the strong bass line and the haunting notes that hover around feel like they belong in a warehouse party versus a festival main stage. Whereas the original opts for uplifting melodies and sweeping big room breakdowns, this edit keeps things brooding, intense and tantalizingly sultry.
