Alesso – Cool (A-Trak Remix)
Alesso‘s upcoming full-length record Forever, is slowly beginning to roll out as he officially joins the Def Jam Records family. The album is led by the Swede’s ultra-catchy pop-driven single “Cool,” alongside vocalist Roy English, and while the tune tides fans over until the album’s May 5th release, a handful of producers have stepped up to remix the lead single and none have hit the mark quite like A-Trak. Fool’s Gold‘s commander-in-chief is a chameleon in the studio, producing everything from funky disco jams alongside Armand Van Helden as Duck Sauce to gritty trap cuts with the Low Pros crew, and now he’s come through to offer a shuffling electro-house rendition of Alesso’s airy main stage-ready selection.
A-Trak opens up the remix with a solid four-on-the-floor drum beat before isolating Roy English’s vocals as the track begins. With a quick build, Trak brings Alesso’s “Cool” from the radio straight to the dance floor, swapping piano leads for a thumping bass line as he twists the tune with his own distinct flavor. Alain gives the original mix a run for its money, although he hold’s true to Alesso’s initial frame and fills in the rest with style.
