Watch This: Janina Gavankar creates cover of Martin Garrix’s ‘Don’t Look Down’
Actress and musician Janina Gavankar tries her hand at substituting for Usher as she presents her own twist on his collaboration with Martin Garrix, “Don’t Look Down.” Interestingly enough, Gavankar initially heard the track during a workout session and was inspired to create a cover of the widely popular track featuring none other than a drum corps.
What began as just a month-long, self-funded project transformed into a spectacle showcasing the talents of 50 members of The Jersey Surf, a drum and bugle corps, and Janina herself.
“I’ve been in love with drum corps since I was 13 years old,” she says. “The level of musicianship, precision, the passion grabbed me and engrained a work ethic in my brain. I’ve been wanting to get back to my roots.”
