Live Nation purchases controlling interest in Bonnaroo
In December, Live Nation acquired a majority stake in C3 Presents. Three months later, the entertainment company purchased Swedish concert promoter, Stureplansgruppen Live. With little time in between, Bonnaroo has appeared on the conglomerate’s radar as its newest partnership, formed with Superfly and AC presents, that will give Live Nation a controlling interest in the festival. While Bonnaroo itself will remain largely unchanged, with the founding partners continuing to operate the multi-day event, the strategic partnership will allow them to “enhance the festival while preserving the integrity of the event that we’ve thoughtfully built over the past 14 years.” There are few details pertaining to Live Nation’s impact on “the best possible experience at Bonnaroo,” but it can be assumed that the 14th edition of the annual gathering will be nothing short of spectacular.
