ØRKA – tell me
Despite the majority of indie/alternative musicians scowling at the current rise of EDM, a special breed of producers have been experimenting with different ways in which the organic, acoustic elements of alternative/indie music can coexist with the digital textures of electronic music. A new producer out of Miami, Florida, ØRKA, beautifully exhibits the harmony that can be achieved with the convergence of ambient electronic structures and indie-derived moods with his single, “tell me.” A soft rumbling bass, luscious piano chords, and a magnetic vocal hook shepherd the first three-quarters of the track before the ethereal craftsman unloads a gripping percussion arrangement and aromatic saxophone to heighten the track’s chilled out aesthetics.
