Nero – The Thrill (Porter Robinson Remix)

For Porter Robinson, perhaps the most daunting yet rewarding experience in his young career was releasing his debut album, Worlds, in August 2014. Since its release less than a year ago, the 22-year-old has embarked on his North American ‘Worlds’ tour, in which he presented to fans across the country an eye-opening live performance as opposed to an ordinary DJ set.

Though he admitted to suffering from writers block following the release of Worlds in a recent interview with Billboard, Robinson spoke highly of Nero’s latest single, “The Thrill,” and how organically his undertaking fell into place. Following closely in the footsteps of his approach behind Worlds, his reimagining of “The Thrill” strikes listeners’ heartstrings with softened melodies and bursting distortions that fall in line with originals such as “Sad Machine” and “Lionhearted.” The raw emotion and beauty that Porter values is evident in his most recent effort – a tangible display of his commitment to quality over quantity.
