Tiësto’s ‘Your Shot USA’ competition is offering all aspiring DJs some major opportunities
The dance music community came after Simon Cowell with pitchforks when he attempted to spawn DJ competitions in vein of American Idol or X-Factor. But now, the concept of aspiring DJs competing for opportunity is being executed properly by one of the scene’s flag carriers.
Launching Your Shot USA, Tiësto’s own competition is open to everyone — aspiring DJs and expressive fans of music alike. Your Shot, previously of Australia, lands stateside as powered by 7UP and will debut on VEVO as a 10-part web series following the series’ 30 contestants through training and competition.
While the final 6 contestants will head to Las Vegas to battle for the top spot, the contest’s ultimate grand prize offers the winner a chance to perform alongside Tiësto in Las Vegas and a slot to perform at Ultra Music Festival 2016.
