Underworld top the brand new UK Vinyl sales chart

It’s no secret that vinyl is making a come back. During a time where majority of DJs carry around their thousands of tracks on USBs, the old-school sound and feel of physical records have become a novelty. With such a rapid rebirth, the Official Charts Company – the company behind the notable top 40 and album charts – have now added a new UK sales chart to track singles and albums on vinyl.

For the inaugural rankings, dance music presents a strong showing right off the bat with Underworld vs Heller & Farley’s “Baby Wants to Ride” earning the top spot on vinyl singles and Aphex Twin right behind in second with “MARCHROMT30A.” On the vinyl albums chart, the Prodigy fight their way amongst the saturation of indie albums with their sixth studio album, The Day Is My Enemy, holding steady at fifth.
