4 things to expect from Insomniac and Life is Beautiful’s new partnership

Determined to up his music festival stake beyond his own EDC in Las Vegas, Pasquale Rotella announced a partnership between Insomniac and Life is Beautiful Festival held in Sin City in September earlier this month. Following LIB’s line up release which features a far heavier representation of electronic talent than years before, Rotella spoke with Vegas Seven in regards to what he hopes to achieve with the event’s forthcoming partnership.

Life is Beautiful’s stage set up will be unique from EDC.

Though Insomniac was brought in largely because of their top tier production, Rotella explained that attendees can expect an entirely different stage set up for Life is Beautiful. “We plan on doing something different for sure. We have certain production elements that are built for certain themed festivals, and Life Is Beautiful deserves something to call its own.”

There are still more acts to be announced.

Rotella hinted that there are more to be revealed besides the already announced electronic headliners like Major Lazer, DJ Snake, Kygo, Porter Robinson, Madeon and RL Grime. There will be 20-25 artists in total.

You can expect more than just an ‘Insomniac Stage’ at the show.

“This has been a collaboration. We’re not [just] hosting a stage; we’re actually producing [other elements within] the entire festival, and promoting the entire festival.” Though Life is Beautiful is far from an electronic show like EDC, Pasquale hopes for some genuine integration all throughout the festival. The Insomniac stage will likely be an EDM-only tent within the show, but other crossover artists like Major Lazer and Kygo will likely be showcased on other stages too.

The relationship isn’t just one-sided.

Though no official plans have been made, Rotella was open to the idea of switching roles and having Life is Beautiful host something within EDC later down the line. “At Insomniac, we love music, we love festivals, we love mass gatherings, we love to hang out.”
