Last year, German producer Stephan Bodzin delivered the massive techno tune “Sungam” to friend and colleague Marc Romboy’s Systematic Recordings, adding a significant notch to the label’s already impressive ten-year catalog of house and techno inflected with a “b-boy attitude.” The melodic, vibe-heavy “Sungam” went on to occupy Resident Advisor’s Top 10 chart not once, but twice in 2014 and has rightfully received a star studded remix package.

One of the gems of the package is an absolutely stunning and deep re-work from Venezuelan duo and Crosstown Rebels stars Fur Coat. Their dark and moody touch perfectly complements the track, keeping some of the nimble synth work while adding in massive bass groans for some dancefloor panache. The breakdowns in the track are extremely gratifying, as golden synth riffs dance freely before a menacing voice whispers “just take control” and the track dives back into a sea of bass. Mobilee’s Rodriguez Jr. and Trouw resident Patrice Bäumel add their own touch to round out the remix package, which will be available digitally and on golden yellow vinyl May 11th.
