DA Premiere: Eva Simons releases music video for ‘Policeman’
Whether you’ve aware or not, Eva Simons has been the voice behind some of your favorite tracks. Dating back to Afrojack’s “Take Over Control” and all the way to will.i.am’s “This Is Love.” Now Simons, the frequent Dutch house collaborator, is drifting from the features territory and looks to build up a repertoire as a solo artist. Her first single of 2015, “Policeman,” has been a worldwide success, charting internationally, and is due for North American cross-over.
While revisiting past electro tendencies upon its drop, the record in full is eclectic and comes off as somewhere between Major Lazer and M.I.A. Today Eva Simons drops the visuals for her standout solo single, an expected play on its title and lyrics. A satirical play against authority, the music video for “Policeman” is done in fun taste — fun enough not to stir the pot or provoke American culture’s recurring anti-cop moments.
