Watch RL Grime drop Skrillex and What So Not’s new collaboration in Germany
RL Grime, What So Not, and Skrillex all linked up on Triple J a few months ago for a legendary b2b2b set on the Australian radio program, and now it appears RL has paid a little homage to the two OWSLA-nauts. The trap lord recently dropped an unreleased Skrillex and What So Not roof-raiser on a packed club in Germany. Although the live clip of this thumping ‘ID’ is brief, this first cut of the upcoming collaboration is already proving to be a nasty, party-primed take on trap music that only Sonny and Emoh could put together.
Playing on glitchy breaks and pounding, muffled bass hits, Skrillex and What So Not’s individual additions to the project are both evident, rounding together pitch bending vocal samples and shattering drum progressions. Now the wait for a proper listen begins.
