Roland Klinkenberg to release new album on Joris Voorn’s Green

He may not be a name that comes up in mainstream music circles often, but Roland Klinkenberg probably prefers it that way. Across his 25-year musical career, Klinkenberg has engineered over 100 releases on labels like Perfect, Global Underground and Fresh Flood. His latest project, an LP titled Construct, is a culmination of those two-and-a-half decades spent gathering inspiration and honing skills around the world. Scheduled for release via Joris Voorn and Edwin Oosterwal’s Green record label, the 12-track LP is a journey across music’s past, present and future. Techno elements meet deep dub, and shimmering, ethereal melodies morph into booming, minimal beats. In Construct, listeners will hear the dark, big room sounds of Berlin’s underground alongside Chicago’s hi hat-laden, hip hop influenced brand of the genre. Sprinkled in across the tracks is plenty of exploration and experimentation using synths, bass, vocals, and some almost-acoustic instrumentals. Although Klinkenberg’s Construct won’t officially be released until June 22, fans can listen to a preview of “Musicalife” off the album via SoundCloud.
