Rory Lyons and Doorly – Sun Rising [Free Download]

Festival weekends are always an exciting time for new releases; attendees dance to and bond over crowd favorites and unreleased jams alike, and fans stuck at home can discuss the weekend’s most hyped IDs from the comfort of the butt impression on their couch. And though EDC and Mysteryland have been a seemingly endless source of as-yet-unknown music, one of the weekend’s best new songs may well be a cover of a well-known house classic: The Beloved’s “The Sun is Rising.”

Annie Mac picked Rory Lyons and Doorly‘s take on the seminal tune for her Free Music Monday series. Rory and Doorly give the song a tasteful modern touch by providing it a bit more punch, adding some dramatic builds, and polishing the overall sound. And though it certainly has a more modern vibe, it’s still every bit as comforting as the original. Ultimately, “Sun Rising” is a beautiful cover and the perfect way to wind down a long weekend.
