San Holo makes Monstercat debut with ‘Victory’
A few weeks back, Monstercat teased its next big artist by way of a mysterious video campaign. Now, the wizard behind “Victory” has been revealed as Dutch future bass extraordinaire San Holo. Today, the producer makes his Monstercat debut with “Victory” off his forthcoming EP of the same name.
As the title suggests, “Victory” is nothing if not triumphant. The track offers an exultant progression, succeeding through gated saw waves and vocal slices. 808s pound underneath but are balanced by the beauty of the song’s arps and effects. Not only is “Victory” a win for San Holo, but a reminder of Monstercat’s seasoned tastemaking abilities.
The entire Victory EP will be released on Monstercat on May 25; lead single “Victory” is available today.
