Steve Aoki & NERVO & Tony Junior – Lightning Strikes

Steve Aoki‘s forthcoming album, Neon Future II, is shaping up to be one of the Dim Mak head honcho’s most exciting undertakings to date. His list of collaborators is without a doubt a remarkable centerpiece with reggae guru Snoop Lion, Weezer’s frontman Rivers Cuomo, Linkin Park, Matthew Koma, and more all contributing to the cake-throwing producer’s next artist album. For the more dance-centric joint ventures of the LP, Steve Aoki teamed up with NERVO and Tony Junior for the third single from his album that titled, “Lightning Strikes.”

A trickling pluck line backs the Australian sisters’ striking vocal touch to lead off the big room heavy hitter, but after the graceful introduction, the producer squad do not hold back on the bulk of their electro synth selections. “Lightning Strikes” is as electrifying as the title suggests, but the stumping aspect is the vague distinction as to whether the track plays more of a progressive or electro role in the house space with the clash of a heart-pounding kick and radiant progressive melodies. Regardless of labels, “Lightning Strikes” is another hat-tipping performance from all three producers and will be a vital component of Aoki’s Neon Future II that can now be pre-ordered on iTunes.
