With Memorial Day Weekend now behind us, summer is in full swing. Last year, a producer by the name of Gryffin popped up on the Internet with his guitar-ridden house flair that transcended the run of the mill melodic house productions with his remixes of Maroon 5, BANKS, and Tove Lo that all passing the million play milestone. Now after three months locked away in the studio, the NYC-based producer resurfaces with his mind-altering remix of Years & Years’ “King.”

Constructed on his distinguishable bed of eclipsing guitar licks, Gryffin turns to “King” for a chance to demonstrate his adaptability in bridging the gap between indie-alternative and dance music. The magic of the remix lies in his raw utilization of Olly Alexander’s charismatic vocals to effortlessly transition into a euphoric chorus robustly driven by a sinuous bassline and exuberant guitar lead. With official remixes of some of music’s biggest stars comprising his musical catalog, we can only anticipate Gryffin’s debut original may be on the horizon.
