Victor Calderone launches new MATTER+ imprint with techno belter ‘Roll’
Brooklyn-based DJ, producer, and label boss Victor Calderone has been devastating dance floors for 20+ years with his ever-evolving and boundary-pushing approach to dance music. With an enviable list of releases on top labels such as Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, the American techno visionary has decided to launch a new imprint of his own titled MATTER+.
Named after his much lauded parties at clubs such as Space Ibiza NY and Montreal’s Stereo, Calderone’s MATTER+ imprint will showcase the same musical output and vibe as that of his popular parties: no-nonsense uncompromising techno.
To inaugurate the label, Victor has concocted a new Roll EP. The title track is a peak-time percussive force to be reckoned with, built around a taut drum pattern and growling bass-heavy snarls that relentlessly drive the track forward. With support already “rolling” in from heavy hitters such Josh Wink and Nicole Moudaber, it looks like Calderone has struck gold yet again.
