A deadmau5 musical is set to debut in Toronto next month

For as much trolling as deadmau5 dishes out, it only seems fair that he should receive a bit of satire at his own expense. Next month at the Toronto Fringe Festival, a new production called Deadmouse: The Musical will make its worldwide debut.

Billed as ‘The Book of Mormon meets Ratatouille,’ it’s an hour-long comedy show featuring the likes of Joel Zimmermouse, David Goudda, and DJ Avicheese (we’re not kidding). The description for the musical reads: “a comedy about a mouse who aspires to be a house DJ but is discriminated against for being a mouse.” To make things even more interesting, the official warnings for the show read: “Sexual Content, Mature Language, Strobe Light.” Now if that’s not a recipe for a great musical, we’re not sure what is.

As you might guess, the show has no official connection to deadmau5, and won’t feature any of his music either. With that said, the official site does note that the work “was written out of love of house music culture,” so the soundtrack can’t be too far from the mark.

The show runs from July 3-11; tickets can be purchased here.
