Unveiling talents like Tom Staar, Eekkkoo, ATTLAS, and Enzo Bennet among many others, mau5trap‘s We Are Friends compilation series has been one of the genre’s hotbeds for burgeoning talent. The last iteration of the series, We Are Friends: Vol 3, welcomed industry veterans like Pig & Dan, Fehrplay, and Matt Lange alongside the label’s stockpile of young talent. Now unveiling that a fourth version of the compilation is in the works, mau5trap’s 5-minute teaser previews what’s to come. Surging melodic keys are used to open the trailer, before diving into a slice of gritty techno and concluding with a glitch-hop finale. While none of the small previews are of deadmau5’s new work, the producer has used a previous We Are Friends compilation to release new music after what was considered a long stretch devoid of news.
