Zedd teams up with country group Lady Antebellum for an unlikely live CMT performance

Avicii proved it was possible to successfully integrate country, folk, and electronic dance music to create something innovative and new. Now, following behind the Swedish maestro’s footsteps, Zedd plans to be the next dance music representative to dive into the untapped world of country music. Zedd will be the first electronic artist to take part as a performer in the CMT Music Awards on June 10th alongside Lady Antebellum.

The idea to bring together the unlikely pair came from CMT’s SVP of music events and talent John Hamlin. For Hamlin, bringing together two artists that are both currently supporting singles, seemed like a golden opportunity. “I’m starting to love the EDM/pop elements that are finding their way into today’s country and have been looking for chance to connect the dots on TV.” Together, Lady Antebellum and Zedd will orchestrate a mash up of their respective hits “Long Stretch of Love” and “Beautiful Now.”
