Marcelo CIC – Superfans feat. DyCy (Original Mix)
Despite already having a large and established fan base in Latin America, the name Marcelo CIC began gaining international traction with the release of “Superfans” via Universal Music Group‘s recently launched EDM arm, AfterCLUV DanceLab. The track, which features vocalist DyCy (you might remember her as the voice on Deorro‘s hit “Five Hours / Don’t Hold Me Back”) has steadily become a regular presence at events and club parties in the U.S. as well as abroad. At this year’s EDC Las Vegas, the Brazilian producer dropped the track to a sea of festival-goers that seemed to instantly become die-hard fans for the remainder of his set. It probably has something to do with “Superfans” ability to hit an interesting sweet spot among many dance music fans – it brings the soaring melodies and oh-so-catchy vocal hook of a top-notch progressive anthem, the high-energy build-ups of an electro house banger, and the gritty bass-driven drops of a future-house gem a-la Tchami or Oliver Heldens. The result is a unique and unusual blend of musical styles that manages to pull off each sound with flying colors.
