Pacha and New York City mourn the passing of Rob Fernandez

New York club culture lost one of our own last week with the tragic passing of Rob Fernandez.

A fixture in the electronic music scene, Rob was a beloved figure in the tightly-knit New York community for the past 25 years. An event promoter, music director of Pacha NYC, and partner in RPM presents, it’s safe to say that any New York club goer has experienced an event courtesy of Rob and his team. Fernandez helped bring EDC to New York and fostered the booming EDM industry during its recent re-emergence into the pop culture zeitgeist, bringing acts like Afrojack, Skrillex, Swedish House Mafia, Avicii and many more to parties throughout the 5 boroughs. Rob’s influence was as wide as his smile and he was a beloved member of what can only be described as an extended family of DJs, industry leaders, and the fans that packed his events week in and week out for decades.

To honor his legacy, Pacha NYC now flies a House of Rob flag outside the venue and has created a GoFundMe to provide an education for his son Rian.

Rob was the loving father of his bright-eyed son Rian.
We know Rian’s education was Rob’s paramount concern. We have started this fund to provide for Rian’s education in the absence of Rob. This fund is sanctioned by Rian’s mom Viviana, as well as Rob’s mom Sharon and his sisters Kim and Laurie. This fund will be properly handled by the trustees of Rob’s estate.

Any donation amount is graciously accepted. Head to the GoFundMe page now to honor one of New York’s most legendary figures.
