Taragana Pyjarama – Together (Kenton Slash Demon Remix)
You probably haven’t heard of Danish producer Nick Kold Erikson, who releases music under the tongue-twister moniker Taragana Pyjarama. His most recent EP Ariel was released in May 2015. Ariel’s official remix bundle, released on True Panther Sounds includes a gorgeous six-and-a-half minute rework of Ariel’s closing track “Together” from Kenton Slash Demon. The remixers include Silas Moldenhawer and Jonas Kenton, who have a musical track record characterized by very high quality, low quantity outputs, and have received support from the likes of Claude VonStroke, John Talabot, DJ Koze, and Hot Chip.
The track opens with gently pulsing major chord progressions and skewed vocal samples, with intricate percussion, prickly synths, and a patiently unfurling melody. The progressively developed track showcases elements that seem to be characteristic of Taragana Pyjarama and Kenton Slash Demon (based on their limited output)- highly textured, almost neurotically detailed, and most definitely not a club track. This is one for the headphones or home stereo- sit back and let the soundscape absorb you.
