ATTLAS is mau5trap’s next pet project. A picture perfect example of the label’s less is more approach to both its releases and its roster.
Last week it was “Wastaga,” a stirring low end showstopper that came with the announcement of his second EP on the imprint. The next single from the forthcoming Scene EP, “Beside,” casts its spell with a cinematic top line and progressive synth landscape instead of an industrial techno framework. A menacing side peaks through on occasion, juxtaposing vocalist Kristian Attard’s contributions with sharp edged stabs and filtered out pads.
