Skepta is one of hip hop’s finest UK imports whose lyrical audacity is best displayed by the fact that he named his debut studio album Greatest Hits. The 32-year-old rapper and remix master just debuted his latest rework of Jamie XX’s “I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times)” on Drake and OVO co-founder Oliver El-Khatib’s Beats 1 OVO Sound Radio show Saturday night. While still in the hip hop realm, Skepta’s version transforms the slowed down percussion-based beat into a hyped uptempo rhythm with Popcaan’s intro vocals sped up and Young Thug’s verses swapped with his own lyrics.
