Weekend Rewind: Skrillex takes Tomorrowland 2012 for a wild ride
“Its amazing to be back in Belgium, man!” snarls Skrillex over the microphone.
It’s Tomorrowland 2012 and Los Angeles’ own Sonny Moore is headlining the largest electronic gathering in the world, putting on a show that will still be branded in people’s memories into 2015. Opening his set with an obligatory “My Name Is Skrillex,” the international dance icon is in his zone, broadcasting a slew of his biggest hits from a small pulpit before Tomorrowland’s towering main stage. Bopping back and forth skipping from jam to jam, he doesn’t stop moving for a second, albeit a quick second to dip below the table and quickly light up a cigarette.
Fast forward a few short years, and this weekend finds Skrillex headlining Red Rocks as half of Dog Blood, headlining HARD Summer as half of Jack Ü.
