Defected sets the tone for the final quarter with Amsterdam 2015 mixtape

As well as coinciding with Amsterdam Dance Event, Autumn is a period where labels look to set the tone for the coming year. With more seasonal landmarks under their belt than the majority of UK independent house outfits, Defected Records seldom struggle to find an excuse to drop fresh cuts from their musical repertoire.

Back with an Amsterdam themed In The House compilation instalment built on artillery both fresh and forthcoming, Defected’s Amsterdam 2015 mixtape puts a worthy spotlight on where the label has managed to command a unique balance of cutting edge international talent. Mixed and mastered by long-serving A&R and resident Andy Danielle, the ten minute mix scales label staples as Kings of Tomorrow, Copyright and Sonny Fodera, whilst ushering material from fresher faces such as BICEP, Little By Little and Purple Disco Machine. From their annual Ibiza instalments to their recurring themed compilation series, Defected always hit the ‘then and now’ directly on the head, with Amsterdam 2015 set to act as an essential manifesto to the state of modern house music.
