Good Morning Mix: Justin Jay’s BBC Radio 1 After Hours Mix

Ahead of the inaugural Dirtybird Campout, we’ve been sitting down with the counselors of the music affair to give the event’s first ever attendees a little insight into what to expect at Oak Canyon Park over October 2-4. The most recent was the youngest member of the San Francisco imprint’s crew, Justin Jay, who has been moving no where but up since his graduation from USC. With the announcement of his Mom I Graduated! World Tour and similarly titled EP, Justin Jay decided to keep the iron hot by taking over Pete Tong’s After Hours mix on BBC Radio One this past weekend.

Opening with a short introduction from the house stalwart himself, Justin Jay takes a moment to reflect back on his origins and first exposure to dance music that served as a gateway to his adult career. He then throws us straight into 40 minutes of house, disco, jazz, soul, and much more with 11 groove-saturated picks ranging from Teddy Pendergrass, Adriatique, Catz ’N Dogz, and even a couple unreleased tracks from the producer’s newly formed side project, Justin Jay & Friends. This mix is the perfect cool down for any night out and is sure to be a great warm-up for those heading to the Dirtybird Campout this weekend.
