Future bass superduo OJI x Volta, aka OxV after a recent rebranding, have been pushing the boundaries of their artistic project by consistently blending other genre sounds into their bass-laden progressions. Taking on the Diplo-produced “27 Club” by songstress Ivy Levan, the Brooklyn-producers tend to Levan’s soul-saturated vocals with robust synths and striking percussion. Amidst all of the glitch-infused bass flutters, OxV incorporates a multitude of metallic, garage, and warped-out elements at a downtempo pace to seamlessly fit with Ivy Levan’s powerful performance and ultimately amplify it.
