Laidback Luke announces first album in 13 years, ‘Focus’

Laidback Luke has been far from lacking in terms of original releases, but it’s been a whopping 13 years since fans saw a full album from the Filipino-Dutch stalwart. Focus, Lucas van Scheppingen’s newest project, will be released on November 6th via his own Mixmash Records.

The album will dish up 16 tracks and feature collaborations with Benny Benassi, Yellow Claw, Trevor Guthrie, GTA, and D.O.D., with Focus’ first single, “Let It Go,” to debut on October 18th. A lover of all genres and artists, Luke emphatically shared that his forthcoming album will contain “a combination of various styles, because electronic music is still all the same family to me.” Despite facing criticism in recent years for “selling out,” he assures fans that Focus is intended to be a representation of his time spent enjoying his role as a producer, rather than a stale offering of recycled sounds and styles.
