Jamie xx sets up permanent record shop in London
Vinyl is alive and well according to Jamie xx. After he and independent record label Young Turks opened a Good Times pop-up in New York, the pair went on to set up a permanent shop in London.
Good Times officially opened its doors on Saturday at 73 Kingsland Road, which will sell a unique collection of records hand-picked by the English producer himself. Included are a variety of records sold at Jamie’s favorite local store, Kristina, as well as records he sampled for In Colour, and a few of his favorite releases — some of which are signed.
What’s more, Good Times will not only act as a record store, but a studio where a series of radio shows will be recorded live before airing on NTS. Melon Magic, Mack + Friends, and Sampha & Lil Silva are among the lineup’s featured artists, which Jamie also curated.
