Sónar unveils more information on South American conferences

For over two decades, Barcelona’s Sónar festival has provided a haven for all types of progressive artists to congregate and share their creativity while enjoying performances by influential tastemakers. In March, the festival announced its massive undertaking, spanning eight cities in total. South America will receive as much focus as Europe this year, with stops in Bogotá, Buenos Aires, and Santiago De Chile, and São Paulo.

As the November 24th commencement date draws near, conference programs have been revealed for all cities save for Bogotá, which will not be receiving a conference this go-around. Buenos Aires’ conference will specialize in industry women with a panel of female DJs, with Leo Garcia also hosting a master class. Artists will travel to space in Santiago where they will be given use of sounds collected by the Very Large Telescope, and will later get to attend a Music Hack Day. São Paulo’s emphasis this year is on its Maker Lab featuring a 3-D printer.

The Chemical Brothers, Hot Chip, Brodinski, and Evian Christ are just a few of this year’s confirmed artists. More information can be found on the Sónar website.
