Deadmau5 reveals new music is coming soon during Hot Topic interview; set to play Game Awards
Although it may seem like deadmau5 has been active on the music front with both “Imaginary Friends” and “NVIDIA” recently surfacing, Zimmerman revealed in an interview with Hot Topic that he’s been “lazy as shit” over the past 12 months due to a recent move and business distractions. However, the mouse-eared producer assures fans a couple of projects are in the works, and that he will be “making new music in the near future.”
Joel then goes on to express his desire to go beyond the typical “EDM fest bro things” and add theatrical robotics to his stage design, which could be referring to something like the story found in his music video for “Professional Grievers.” To finish the interview off on the nerdier side of things, deadmau5 reveals his all-time favorite anime films and go-to video game styles.
Further continuing his presence in the gaming world, deadmau5 will also be one of two musical guests at this year’s Game Awards along with indie outfit CHVRCHES. The two acts will perform during the live-broadcasted ceremony on December 3rd.
