Lunice surprise releases new EP, announces supporting dates for Madonna

Maybe TNGHT splitting up was a good thing? Since the trap duo parted ways, the output from Hudson Mohawke and Lunice individually has been voluminous and praiseworthy. But just before the trap wave took off a few years ago, and TNGHT was there to satisfy everyone’s heavy bass and hip-hop cravings, Lunice had an EP packed and ready to go that managed to, for whatever reason, stay under wraps until just now. Behind LuckyMe Records, Lunice has surprise-released his 180 EP, spanning a short and sweet four tracks.

The collection of tunes was created between 2011 and 2012, prior to the release of Lunice’s One Hunned EP. Now with 2015 drawing to a close, the Montreal-bred juggernaut felt now was the right time to finally unleash them. Introduced by “Burnt,” the EP is now available via LuckyMe, and the release also marks another special announcement for the former TNGHT proponent.

Lunice will be supporting Madonna on the European leg of the Rebel Heart Tour – what is likely to be a run of his biggest shows to date. Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Paris will all see Lunice open for Madonna, and with trap heads getting a little bone from Lunice by way of 180, who knows, maybe more trap magic with TNGHT is coming sooner than we all think.
