Sicarii’s unique style of house music is noticeably influenced by the five continents where the artist has lived. The New York-based newcomer recently played Billboard Hot 100 Festival, where he debuted his remix of Maroon 5’s chart-topper “Sugar.”

Any radio-dominating hit as well-known as “Sugar” is ambitious remix material, perhaps explaining why Sicarii’s is only the second version (after Nicki Minaj‘s) to be released officially on Interscope. Maroon 5 itself even supported the track on Twitter. The tropical-tinged flip incorporates deep house influences for a funky result.
