Pete Tong dishes on debut IMS China in recap video

Nearly a decade into its existence, the International Music Summit (IMS) broke new ground in its expansion to China this year. The country’s 1.3 billion-person population is suspected to become one of the next major markets for electronic music as recent exposure is yielding positive results. Titled “Awaken the Dragon,” the inaugural event focused on how to best harness the potential of the booming Chinese market, and drew over 250 Chinese and international delegates from all sides of the industry to pool their ideas on its progression.

IMS founder and electronic pioneer Pete Tong narrated the recap video above, pointing out important keynote speeches by Eric Zho, Jason Swamy, Paul Oakenfold, and more. Snippets of discussions called attention to the importance of integrating into Chinese platforms and executing business in the country in a way that would benefit all involved.
