Spotify launches feature to recommend concerts to listeners
The race between streaming sites like Apple Music and Tidal continues, but the numbers don’t lie: Spotify is king. Today the streaming giant introduced a new feature that proves the service’s algorithms are unrivaled against competitors.
The “Concerts” feature, constructed in partnership with Songkick, will provide concert recommendations for listeners based on data from their streaming habits. When a listener’s Spotify activity adjusts, the recommendations are altered to reflect these changes.
Listeners are also allowed to modify their location to see concerts in other parts of the world. This fresh feature will be extended to iOS and Android users, allowing listeners to plan their show calendar on the go.
