Brooklyn-based future producer JR Nelson made his ambitious debut with a remix of Bon Iver‘s “Skinny Love.” His second release takes on Los Angeles-based R&B artist Andra Day and her breakout hit “Rise Up.”

Day’s gorgeous vocal soars over lush synths, rolling kicks, chimes and horns.  Complementary melodies elevate the melodic future bass drop, lending layers of texture to the dynamic reimagining. It appears JR Nelson may have found his niche melding soulful R&B with his dynamic production abilities.
