Benga comes out of retirement for 2016 return

Just after announcing his retirement about a year ago, dubstep DJ/producer Benga is priming for a return to music in the new year. The Croydon native opened up in a series of tweets earlier this year about his struggles with bi-polar disorder and schizophrenia. In a recent interview with the Guardian, the 29-year-old bass DJ – who’s one third of London outfit Magnetic Man alongside Skream and Artwork – revealed the loneliness and shame he once felt: “There’s a lot of stigma around sectioning, as if it’s something you couldn’t possibly do to another person. A lot of people are scared. But it needs to be done,” he said. “The stigma around it is what makes you so alone…. Nobody recognizes it.”
