GRiZ honored the ‘Spirit of Detroit’ award for raising $30,000 with GRiZMAS campaign

Just before the start of December, dance-sax commander, GRiZ, announced his second annual ’12 Days of GRiZMAS’ charity campaign to help Little Kids Rock further deliver free music education and instruments to the city’s underserved public schools. In conjunction with his imprint, All Good Records, the Detroit native embarked on 12 days of both philanthropic and holiday activities that included coat donations, caroling around the city of Detroit, collecting dog food and supplies, and more leading up to a benefit, sold-out concert at the Masonic Temple where GRiZ played with FKJ, Big Wild, and Will Sessions.

In the end, they ended up raising an astounding $30,000 for the nonprofit organization. As well, GRiZ and All Good Records’ goodwill was recognized by the Detroit City Council, and both were awarded the “Spirit of Detroit” Award – one of the city’s highest accolades.

GRiZMAS will continue accepting donations until January 1st and they can be given here.
