Sankeys Ibiza will open a full month early in 2016

Sankeys Ibiza will welcome visitors to the White Isle a month before the season traditionally begins next year. Sankeys, which was born in Manchester, has had a successful outpost in Ibiza for the past five years, with parties seven nights a week during the regular season. Sankeys is known for booking among the best in underground talent on the island. While most Ibiza opening parties take place at the end of May, Sankeys will host its own on May 1 in 2016.

No artists have been announced yet, but the party is set to kick off at 6:30 pm with a free barbeque on Sankeys rooftop, and run twelve hours until sunrise the following morning. Owner David Vincent explained his rationale behind the unconventional decision, explaining that “for many years there has always been talk about extending the Ibiza clubbing season. After five years of being here, nothing has changed it was just “blah blah blah” so I thought to myself, f*ck it, I’ll do it. I like a challenge and I want to progressively push the island I love forward whilst creating a legacy like I did in Manchester! May the 1st be with you.”
