Black Butter Records brought us an incredible amount of new talent in 2015, but have remained in the giving spirit right up to the year’s end. Cut from volume six of the label’s Spread Love compilation series, UK collective Bassically continue their budding trend for exploiting the live capacity of British house music with their own strike on Black Butter’s latest celebration of fresh and fertile talent.
‘Tonight I’m Gonna’ already stood as a deliciously low end favouring serving of next generation house music with subtle acid undertones. Performed 100% without so much as a single loop or playback element, the video spotlights the raw performance skill that offers an exciting live edge that we already want to see far more of come 2016. For a genre always falling under scrutiny for its performance etiquette, Bassically remain a confident step in the right direction.
