Calvin Harris and Disciples’ ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ reaches platinum status

Scottish-born producer Calvin Harris has a penchant for composing summer anthems that later go on to become some of the biggest hits of the year. “How Deep Is Your Love,” his foray into deep house alongside Disciples, was the most recent example of this phenomenon. Having taken over the airwaves before it was officially released in July, the single went on to earn even more attention when famed supermodel Gigi Hadid played the central role in the music video.

The track’s heat has carried over into the cold winter months; after having sold over a million copies in the United States, “How Deep Is Your Love” has officially ascended to platinum certification as of January 25. The song joins the ranks of other platinum-certified singles by the Forbes “Electronic Cash King” including “Need Your Love” with Ellie Goulding and his 2014 triple-platinum smasher, “Summer.”
