Ice Cube plans to reunite N.W.A. at Coachella

Coachella has made artist reunions an annual tradition. With Guns N’ Roses and LCD Soundsystem already reuniting for the 2016 edition, it looks as though the festival may receive a third surprise come April in the form of N.W.A.

While Ice Cube is currently booked on Saturday as a solo act, he recently revealed that an N.W.A. reunion may be in the cards:

“I’ve got some tricks up my sleeves,” Ice Cube remarked in an interview with The Talk. “I’m gonna try to bring the members of N.W.A. together. Give everybody a little history lesson on Ice Cube and N.W.A., Westside Connection, everything I’ve been doing over the years.”

Ice Cube also alluded to “some great visuals,” sparking speculation that the Eazy-E hologram revealed at 2013’s Rock The Bells may make a reappearance.

There has been a resurgence in interest surrounding N.W.A. since the release of their blockbuster film, Straight Out Of Compton. Having also joined the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year, a reunion in 2016 would be well-timed and undoubtedly popular.

Ice Cube, DJ Yella, and MC Ren performed on stage together at BET Experience last year, but the supergroup hasn’t been completed with Dr. Dre.
