Maya Jane Coles slated to release new double album this year
Maya Jane Coles is surprising fans with the news that she’ll be dropping a double album this year, comprised of over 20 new tracks. She tells DJ Mag that the recordings are “quite raw” and that the compilation is nearly complete: “I’ve finished about 75% of it, but as it goes along I keep changing tracks and making something new and thinking: this has to be on it!”
The DJ/producer recently finished up a crazy year of touring, and now has some studio time to devote to finishing up the album, revealing that the artwork and album title will be the final stage to complete the release.
Coles also discloses that her vocals will be used as a major component through sampling and manipulation, and that the double album will feature two different sounds, with one “more melodic, song-based” and the other “more up-tempo.”
